As I #stayathome and reschedule yet another family portrait session, I find myself get melancholy for my families that had so been looking forward to capturing all the stages of their family, from baby to teen… I know that longing to capture every tiny moment to look back on through the years. I know how meaningful it is for a child to look back and see themselves through their parents eyes. I know that these moments are fleeting and once gone can only be seen outside our hearts through photos or videos…
And while I know that capturing these memories and moments are absolutely essential to moms & dads, I am also well aware that, despite the argument of some photographers, I am definitely NOT an essential employee. Myself and every other photographer, from the just starting out bargain priced to the Sue Bryce’s of the world, are a luxury. Always have been. Always will be.
But just because I cannot be there to capture the memories for you does not mean that you can, or should, consider these moments lost… No, this is when you break out your camera and take some tips from me and do your best. And then you get online and you print those memories and set them into a box to flip through or create an album filled with the time you homeschooled… Imagine how wonderful it will be to look through those memories in years to come… Show the laughs… show the boredom… show the walks… show the cuddles… show the tears… show it all… remember it all…
So, check out the video for tips to find the light and make those memories a little bit prettier and I will find more archive videos with tips and try to keep new ones coming!
