Watching kids grow up before my lens is definitely a highlight of my job. I simply love walking into a home that I know the sweet faces greeting me – I love seeing how they have changed and grown since the last time I saw them. As moms, we see our kids every day and often don’t notice the subtle changes from one year to the next. Sure, we see the change from 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 but things slow down as they get older. Often it isn’t until we stop and compare photos from one year to the next that we notice how baby faces have slimmed.
One of the things I love most of lifestyle portraiture is that not only do we get to see the physical changes in our littles, we see the personalities of the moment. We see that our littlest still just wants to cuddle and that our shy daughter is becoming poised. We see that even when faces age, some things remain – certain expressions become the hallmarks of the person.
Best, year after year, I get to be a fly on the wall to see the love that sustains your family. I see laughter continue and love abound.
Is there anything better than capturing the sweet love, personalities and laughter in your family? I think not.
