Lately there has been so much to keep any parent from getting a good night sleep. But last night I tossed and turned in excitement and joy. I checked my phone for updates with every restless waking, searching for updates on me nephew who has decided it’s time to meet the world. And while I tossed, this little boy inside me kept me company with kicks and turns of his own – a sweet reminder that it won’t be long before his debut and many more sleepless nights.

And with all the hurt in the world lately, I welcomed the reminder that good and love begin anew with each passing day. With a still and quiet house, I am sitting back and enjoying the peace of morning.

Here’s to new days and new babies. Sweet nephew, I eagerly await your introduction. And sweet baby boy, I’m loving your kicks…
