Another holiday that looks different this year. Usually the Fourth of July is a favorite day for our little community. We decorate bikes and gather for the neighborhood parade. We end at the pool and watch the dad’s compete in the belly flop contest. We move the celebration to one friend’s home or another and enjoy an afternoon laughing, grilling and swimming. Then we load our pajama clad littles into the car and drive over the catch some fireworks…
This year, we did none of the above. The kids decorated our playground set instead of the bikes. We stayed home and enjoyed each other. We did swim & grill – man those ribs were great.
And, of course, as life as a mom goes, I had an outfit I loved for seeing absolutely no one. I remember being a new mom and having fears of “wasting” a good outfit for days when I’d either see no one or the baby would spit up all over me before I saw anyone.
In any case, I do love my Amazon find top below which is a steal at $20. It reminds me of the uber popular Mi Golandrino styles. It’s a style that I totally adore but I know isn’t a long term look for me and hence I have hesitated to invest a lot of money to get. Don’t get me wrong, I am not shy to invest in my clothing – but I save those splurges for styles I know I will wear year after year. And for me, the $20 price tag here was perfect to get the look but not feel bad when I am over it. And the quality is actually really great. Solid construction. Soft materials. Great, flattering cut.
