Phew, the past few weeks and dealing with Hurricane Harvey in Houston has been life altering. Like many, my family spent time combing through flooded belongs to see what could be saved, ripping out sheetrock and generally in disbelief of what our city is going through…
As I spent time working to restore photos from generations past, I could not help but think of how so many were doing the same and surely lost precious memories…
At the same time, I had already been brainstorming what my skills were best suited for in the recovery efforts…
I didn’t have a boat…
Demo and clean up at my parents meant I was not free to help at friend’s homes…
I could design a t-shirt to sell but that seemed covered and I was not already set up with production means…
I cannot recreate lost newborn photos… but I CAN help to rebuild new memories…
So here is what I am planning: On October 21st I will be hosting a mini session day exclusively for those who have lost family memories to Hurricane Harvey. These “Flooded with LOVE” sessions will be 20 minutes long and celebrate the love that these families felt in the wake of Harvey. Families will receive a 10 image gallery which they can download, share and print – and of course order prints through me if they choose. I will also be designing an exclusive “Flooded with LOVE” holiday card which will can be added on for a significantly reduced rate…
If you know anyone who would benefit from one of these sessions, or if you yourself would like to participate, please email me at hello@laurendefrehn.com and reference the “Flooded with LOVE” package…
XOXO
